AGM Communication and Control Ltd. (Israel) and Element 16 Technologies Inc. (Los Angeles, CA) collaborated through BIRD Energy to develop a groundbreaking sulfur-based thermal energy storage (TES) solution for industrial heat applications, with funding support from the BIRD Foundation.

The project combined AGM’s advanced control systems expertise with Element 16’s innovative molten sulfur TES technology to create a cost-effective, high-efficiency energy storage solution. AGM developed dynamic control logic, with contributions from Ben-Gurion University, enabling real-time system optimization and operation. Meanwhile, Element 16 designed, tested, and validated the sulfur TES prototype, achieving an 85% thermal-to-thermal efficiency and a scalable design for industrial deployment.
