BIRD Cyber promotes collaboration on cybersecurity and emerging technologies aimed at enhancing the cyber resilience of critical infrastructure.

U.S.-Israel Cybersecurity Initiative

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), and the BIRD Foundation, invite U.S. and Israeli entities to apply for grant funding through the BIRD Cyber program. BIRD Cyber seeks to foster U.S.-Israeli collaboration in cybersecurity and strengthen the cyber resilience of both countries.

Topics of the 2024 program:

  • Cyber Protection for Legacy Medical Devices
  • BGP Hijacking Remediation
  • Online Face Image Self-Enrollment Compatible with International Standards
  • Threat Hunting on Encrypted Traffic
  • Human-Machine (AI) Interface Tools for Cybersecurity

Proposal Requirements:

  • Proposal must involve cooperation between two companies, or a company and a university / research institution – one from the U.S. and one from Israel).
  • The project should lead to demonstrations and pilot implementations of the developed solution.

The maximum conditional grant is $1.5 M per project, and no more than 50% of the joint R&D budget.
BIRD Cyber is managed by the BIRD Foundation and follows the Foundation’s rules and procedures
