Freshpoint Quality Assurance Ltd., known as Evigence Sensors (Haifa, Israel) and Ciba Specialty Chemicals (later acquired by BASF) worked together to develop the OnVu™, a novel time-temperature indicator (TTI).
The most common cause of spoilage of chilled food and beverages
is the temperature being too high during storage and transport. This new TTI device, supported by the BIRD Foundation, shows at a glance the freshness of perishable goods. It allows producers, retailers and consumers the ability to check whether perishable products have been correctly stored and supplied, thus helping to enhance consumer convenience and confidence.
