Enhancing U.S. - Israel Homeland Security Collaboration
Opportunity to Submit U.S.- Israel Joint Homeland Security Proposals to the BIRD Foundation

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) & The Israeli Ministry of Public Security (MOPS) provide guidance on S&T priority topics for both countries
To be considered, a project proposal should include:
 |
R&D cooperation between two, unrelated companies, one registered in Israel and the other in the U.S. The companies should jointly apply for BIRD support |
 |
The jointly developed technology or product(s) must have considerable innovation and business potential |
 |
The submitted projects will be considered for BIRD funding at the next Board of Governors meeting to be held on June 5, 2013 |

The following specific areas have been jointly emphasized by DHS and MOPS: First Responders, Disaster Management, Cyber Security, Explosives Detection

The maximum conditional grant per project is up to $1 million per project (up to 50% of the R&D costs associated with the joint project). |
