Enhancing  U.S. - Israel Homeland Security Collaboration

Opportunity to Submit U.S.- Israel Joint
Homeland Security Proposals to the BIRD Foundation

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
& The Israeli Ministry of Public Security (MOPS)
provide guidance on S&T priority topics for both countries

To be considered, a project proposal should include:

	R&D cooperation between two, unrelated companies, one registered in Israel and the other in the U.S. The companies should jointly apply for BIRD support
	The jointly developed technology or product(s) must have considerable innovation and business potential
	The submitted projects will be considered for BIRD funding at the next Board of Governors meeting to be held on June 5, 2013
	The following specific areas have been jointly emphasized by DHS and MOPS: First Responders, Disaster Management, Cyber Security, Explosives Detection Click here to view S&T priority topics

The maximum conditional grant per project is up to $1 million per project
(up to 50% of the R&D costs associated with the joint project).

Executive Summaries (using BIRD’s template) – March 6, 2013
Full Proposals (following BIRD’s detailed instructions) – April 10, 2013
Decisions – June 5, 2013
