Notal Vision (Israel) and Carl Zeiss Meditec (Dublin, CA) joined forces to develop the ForseeHome® AMD Monitor which received FDA approval in early 2010.
The joint project, initiated in the early 2000’s, was the first BIRD supported project that focused on telemedicine. Early detection is critical for timely vision saving treatment. Patients are being monitored remotely and alerts are generated to ensure prompt clinical attention. As a result, treatment can be initiated almost concurrently to remote diagnosis, thus preventing sight loss.
