U.S.-Israel Collaboration on Natural Gas Technologies

A Request for Information (RFI) by the BIRD Foundation will assess the potential of U.S.-Israel collaboration on innovative Natural Gas (NG) technologies, such as: Reservoir Characterization, Big Data Management, Imaging, Physical Security, Robotics, Seismicity, Sensors, Visualization, Water Treatment and many others.

Natural Gas (NG) technologies have become increasingly important to the U.S. and Israel. In the U.S., new technologies are needed to prudently and safely continue the extraction of large amounts of shale gas. In Israel, the relatively recent discoveries of significant offshore NG reservoirs have caused the country to become increasingly dependent on this energy source.

The purpose of the newly published RFI is to solicit feedback from industry, academia, research laboratories, etc. on their interest in pursuing joint R&D activities between U.S. and Israeli entities on NG related technologies, including the possibility of applying for funding from the BIRD Foundation.
