Jaron Lotan is the Executive Director of the BIRD (Binational Industrial Research and Development) Foundation. In the past 39 years served in key executive roles with leading Israeli-based technology companies.

Ami Spira
General Manager, Civan Lasers USA
Ami Spira is the General Manager of Civan Lasers USA, overseeing the company’s operations throughout North America as of January 2024. Before stepping into this leadership position, Ami was the VP of Marketing at Civan Lasers, where he accumulated over 6 years of B2B marketing and business development experience, specifically in the Photonic products sector. Throughout his career, Ami has embraced various leadership and marketing roles across multiple companies. He earned a Master of Arts in Law from Bar-Ilan University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Reichman University.

Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation
BIRD is an acronym for Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development. The BIRD Foundation’s mission is to stimulate, promote and support industrial R&D of mutual benefit to the U.S. and Israel.
The BIRD Foundation was established by the U.S. and Israeli governments in 1977 to generate mutually beneficial cooperation between U.S. and Israeli companies, including start-ups and established organizations. BIRD provides funding up to $1.5M per project and matchmaking support between U.S. and Israeli companies, BIRD takes no equity in the companies.
BIRD supports approximately 20 projects annually. The cumulative sales of products developed through BIRD projects have exceeded $10 billion.
Since its inception, BIRD has approved over 1000 projects, including over 100 projects in Massachusetts, with leading companies in the U.S. and Israel. To name few of them: ADM, American Red Cross, Applied Materials, Avaya, Bayer Pharmaceutical, Becton Dickinson, Bio-Rad Laboratories, General Dynamics, General Electric, IBM, J&J, Motorola, Procter & Gamble, Beth Israel Lahey Health, Telcordia, Texas Instruments, Netafim, GE Health, Thermo Fisher, Karyopharm, Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, UMASS medical School and more.
New England-Israel Business Council (NEIBC)
NEIBC is a not-for-profit organization based in the Boston area.
