The approved projects involve innovations in the areas of healthcare, agrotechnology, environment, nano-satellites, electronics and others

 

December 30, 2015 – During its meeting on December 16, 2015, held in Tel Aviv, Israel, the Board of Governors of the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation approved $7.5 million in funding for nine new projects between U.S. and Israeli companies. In addition to the grants from BIRD, the projects will access private sector funding, boosting the total value of all projects to approximately $21 million

New Collaborative Initiative between Israel and the U.S. Promotes the Development of Advanced Technologies for First Responders

 

Israel-U.S. agreement, under the BIRD Foundation, will support the collaboration between companies and research organizations in Israel and the U.S.


December 8, 2015 - The Israel -U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation, announced that the Israeli Ministry of Public Security and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have signed a collaborative agreement to promote and fund joint Israeli-U.S. projects for the development of advanced technologies for First Responders. The collaboration agreement was designed to improve and enhance the preparedness of national rescue forces including fire, police and first-aid units, and their capabilities in the field. According to the agreement, the BIRD Foundation will manage the binational program, titled "NextGen First Responder Technologies," which will also allow for collaboration between companies and research institutions.

June 29, 2015 – During its meeting on June 18, 2015, held in Washington D.C., the Board of Governors of the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation approved $8 million in funding for ten new projects between U.S. and Israeli companies. In addition to the grants from BIRD, the projects will access private sector funding, boosting the total value of all projects to approximately $19 million.
